The problem to solve

Why the entrance needed to be considered as a whole.

Decorative glass works best when it is considered alongside the door from the beginning. The door, sidelights, toplight and surrounding panelling all influence the proportions and rhythm of the glass.

How the design was resolved.

How the design was developed.

The timber joinery and specialist glass were coordinated as one composition. STILE handled the timber survey, joinery and installation, working with the specialist glassmaker to ensure the decorative glass was properly integrated into the finished design.

The result

How the finished work comes together.

The finished entrance has a balanced composition, with the stained glass carrying consistently from the door through to the toplight. Interior photographs show how the glass works with natural daylight, adding a quality that an exterior view alone cannot capture.
